This beautiful little sewing machine was recently passed down to me from my mother.
It was her first sewing machine, a birthday present bought for her by her mum and dad.
It's an elna from 1956, it's a manual machine, the needle stitches as you turn handle at theside.
It only does one stitch, a running stitch. It was designed as a first sewing machine for children.
What makes it really special is that it plays "The Blue Danube", kind of like a music box / sewing machine, pretty cool hey!
I've had it serviced and it's in fine working order, however, I think I'll stick to using my janome it just seems to special to use.
If any one else has anything similar I'd love to hear about your special little gem! :-)

Not only is it adorable - I've never heard of a machine that doubles as a music box! I've got a Singer in that same green colour - and same vintage.
